My Top Plug-Ins for Optimizing Website Load Speed for WordPress

One of the main issues that I have been facing recently with my blog was how the load time was increasing as I added more content and graphics. Here are the plug-ins I used to help my site with its load time. (My website went from a 40 second load time to a 7 second load time.) The ideal load time is as short as possible but definitely under 20 seconds. Otherwise, people lose patience; you lose viewers. Here are the plugins I used to help shorten my blog’s load time.

Pingdom

Use this to test the amount of time it takes your website to load, and it will also tell you what is slowing down your website. Here’s a snapshot of how my blog did. As you can see, I still have a lot of work to do, but my load time is under 4 seconds now.

BJ Lazy Load

I can’t remember who recommended this to me, but it did help optimize my website speed. The concept is that this plug-in makes your computer load only what you are looking at. This way the computer is not wasting time loading everything on the page when you are only looking at part of the page at a time.

EWWW Image Optimizer

Images take time to load but are necessary for aesthetically pleasing website. This helps speed up the time it takes for images to load.

WP Fastest Cache

This is a plug-in I found while looking for caching plug-ins. So far it has worked very well for me. Caching helps to optimize website load time as well.

WP Optimize

This plug-in finds things in your WordPress that are slowing down your load speed. It is so quick and easy to use!

I hope these helped! Please share your tips too! Let’s learn together!
